Self Pay - Need Help

My husbands company is self funded and they have an exclusion for "weight loss programs and weight loss surgery".  I received a letter from the insurance company stating that lap band is not covered so I need to move towards self pay.  Any recommendations about financing?  I don't have the cash so I'll need to borrow.  Does anyone know if I can borrow from my 401K if I no longer work for the employer who administers the plan?   Any recommendations or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Teresa

Hi Theresa,    Call the company you have your previous 401k with, you might be able to withdrawal it since you no longer work for them, but you will have some penalties so make sure you ask what they are.  When I took the money from a 401k that I was no lomger employed with I paid a 20% penalty at time of withdrawal and another 10% come tax return season.  Good luck I hope this helped.

I am going thru CapitalOne Financing. I went online and they approved me right away. They work directly with my Md's office. They send him the check - his fees and the hospitals -  and I pay monthly. Good Luck!
